What is gainage?
Gainage is a traditional artisanal technique used to cover furniture as well as various objects such as boxes or handles. This craft can be applied to many different surfaces and provides a precise, durable finish while enhancing each element within a space.
George V project
For this apartment located in Paris’s 8th arrondissement, we designed a wall cladding with a leather-covered plinth in white leather, as well as custom drawers featuring a sycamore interior and a fully leather-covered exterior in white.
Each element was carefully designed to create a bright and refined atmosphere, intended to highlight the artworks displayed within this Parisian interior.
An outstanding collaboration
This project was completed in collaboration with Denis Poulain and Noue Atelier. The leather used for this project was selected from Sofic Cuir.
